Rajarambapu Patil Co-operative Sugar Factory is one of the nonpareil companies of India, which was instituted in the year 1969 and its operations commenced in 1970, named as Walwa Taluka Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd by Rajarambapu Patil. It was started with a motive to create employment opportunities for the people of Walwa.
We started with 1 plant at Sakharale with 1250 Tons Crushing per Day in 1970 and since then we have expanded with 3 more plants at Wategaon in 2003, Karandwadi in 2008 and Tippehalli in 2013, with conglomerate capacity over 7000 Tons Crushing per Day.
Rajarambapu had altruistic and progressive dreams for Walwa, after efficacious establishment of sugar factory; the second big success was establishment of Distillation plant in 1975 at Sakharale; immediately opening gates for further triumph of company with Liquor Production department by manufacturing country liquor in 1976 and Indian- made foreign liquor in 1985.
After demise of Rajarambapu in 1984, Mr. Jayant Patil resolutely took it upon himself to help the company alleviate new heights. He knew his father’s dream and coddling those as his own by keeping his father’s words and ideologies at heart; he worked relentlessly.
Mr. Jayant Patil introduced himself with the Lift Irrigation project started by Rajarambapu, this move was a crucial change maker of the drought worn situation of Walwa, not just for the farmers but also the local masses.
Another colossal feat by Mr. Jayant Patil was installing a Co-generation plant at Wategaon in 2006 and second plant at Rajaramnagar in 2016 with combined electricity generation of 40 MW.
Today, RBPSSK has completed more than 45 years in the industry, this was only possible with the immense support of more than 40,000 cane farming families with 15,000 (or 12,348) Cane Farming shareholders. For a co-operative company, the most important asset are the people who work for it and at RBPSSK they are not just workers, farmers, staff but people who are responsible for making what RBPSSK is today.
